Creating a website means having a domain and hosting your webpages. I am going to explain to create a website and install WordPress in it. (basic only)
Creating a domain
Domain is simply a website name such as google.com, sangams.com.np etc. It is unique and identify one or more IP addresses. Domain name is translated into ip address using dns then only it works. Suffix in domain name indicates which top level domain (TLD) it belongs to. Eg. .gov, .org, .com, .net etc.
To regester a domain name goto any registrar and check availablity for you domain. If it is available regester it. You need to pay for domain name to the registrar. Some domain registrar are NameCheap, GoDaddy, Register.com etc. Some hosting service provider provides free domain name on using hosting service with them. Eg. Bluehost, GoDaddy, AwardSpace, SiteGround etc provides free domain name while hosting with them. Since price of domain name depends on registrar it is recomended to use BlueHost or similar web hosting service provider.
There is a domain provider Freenom which provides free .tk, .ml, .gq and .cf domain name. But this domain name should only be used for learning purpous. Because registering free domain from freenom is not your and freenom may close your domain at any time and will sell it.
Hosting
Hosting simply means hosting your files in web. Your files may be image, video, webpages or whatever you want. Hosting a website is to host webpags and needed scripts images or files. Goto any hosting service provider as stated above and create your account.
Types of hosting plans are:
- Free Hosting
- Shared Hosting
- Dedicated Hosting
- Collocated Hosting
You may use any as your requirements. For more information about hosting plan see Types of Web Hosting Services. Then singup for the required hosting plan and note the nameservers. It is required parameter for domain name configuration. You have to redirect your domain name to these nameservers then only your domain works. Nameserver can be found in Account Information in CPanel.
After registering domain and redirecting to the given nameservers you are ready with your working website.
After this we need to install WordPress in the website so that we can start blogging.
Installing WordPress
It is easy to install WordPress using Softaculous. Most web hosting provider gives free Softaculous script installer. To install WordPress go to CPanel and you will see there Softaculous script installer, click there and install WordPress. See official tutorial from Softaculous for more info.

If in some case web hosting provider don’t provide Softaculous then you have to install it manually. For this download WordPress from http://www.wordpress.org and unpack the zip file then upload all the files to a folder where you want to install to your server using ftp. If you upload the files to www.yourdomain.com/wp then it will be installed in wp folder. Now open www.yourdomain.com/wp and follow the instruction given.
