Hi I’m Sangam, a student currently studying Computer Science. This is my personal blog built with WordPress and Genesis.
I want to share how I learnt to create website like this. As a child I never wanted to study Computer Science, but in this era of technology, it attracted me while studying in high school. That was the time when I learnt HTML and CSS. At that time I even don’t know about WordPress, thinking that all the websites and all the pages are created using HTML, and that is time consuming. I have created up to 20 pages and uploaded them all using ftp in the small HTML web server. These web servers can be found anywhere in the internet for free. From those days I have been consuming more times in the internet and my little website. At the end of my high school I found WordPress saying that it will be easy to create a blog with it. Then I know not only HTML and CSS, PHP is also used to create a webpage and also databases are needed to store the information of the website. There is a quote “Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines”, similar to this quote I had to learn some about PHP and web servers to install WordPress. Then after I installed WordPress and tried it how it is, I found it amazing at that time, it was beautiful, well-managed and I have to only post my articles. HTML, CSS are handled by WordPress so it was good. Later when I joined my college to study Computer Science I created this website and learnt more about PHP language, it is somewhat similar to C, C++ languages. That was my journey from a tiny html based website to this CMS based website.
Now I’m studying computer science, and learning PHP more deeply along with C, FORTRAN, C++ Bootstrap, Java and Python. I think every students studying in science and technology field, especially a Computer Science and IT student who wants to be a programmer should always have a side project. It helps them to focus and increases their productivity. For me, my blog is a way to learn and is my online archive where I store my idea.
